Take My Hand
By Charlene McCann © 2000

An outstretched hand can mean so much
To someone feeling low.
A gentle hug of understanding
When tears begin to flow.
A listening ear to lend to those
Whose life has fallen apart.
The priceless gift of love you give
Strengthens more than just the heart.

The will to carry on was lost;
But because of you...it's found.
A life so shattered by grief and pain,
Is now alive and abounds.
The caring concern you freely gave
When things were at their worst;
Has helped that precious one to know
Their life is no longer cursed.

Each day holds promise beyond compare;
Each night, a peaceful rest.
The helping hand you gave, you see;
Has made that life more blessed.
