I Care, My Friend

I Care, My Friend
by Charlene McCann © 2000

~For Kathi~
Who knows the good & the bad
and loves me anyway.

I care for you because you gave
Your friendship warm and true.
When others had no time to spare,
Such kindness came from you.

No questions asked, you just were there
To help and guide me on;
To comfort and replenish
When I felt all hope was gone.

Your life has problems of its own;
Your heart about to break.
But you were there, no matter what,
A hand for me to take.

My wish for you, sweet, gentle one,
Is that your life will clear;
And give you back in full return
What all you hold most dear.
